Position: Fit & Spec Technician

Industry: Fashion & Apparel

Location: Ville Saint-Laurent

  

This Montreal apparel leader is looking for an experienced Fit Technician (all categories: sweaters, outerwear, denim, cut and sew and sportswear). Known for its contemporary ready-to-wear ladies  apparel that melds today’s trends with timeless fashion, you will be impressed with the high-energy and dynamic work environment in this generational family business.

Can you do this?

  • Create specs for product groups according to design requests
  • Updating and managing graded specs and size charts
  • Certify that all garments are of the correct fit, look, style and quality
  • Ensure quality standards that are in line with company standards
  • Identify adjustments needed and communicate them to the makers overseas
  • Measure samples for fit and production against size specifications to guarantee the desired fit is consistently achieved
  • Work with the Production Manager to approve production samples of all stages
  • Produce fit sketches to assist the vendor in correcting fit issues

Is this you?  

  • 5+ years of fitting experience in womenswear or in menswear
  • Strong computer literacy (Excel a must)
  • Fabric knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in all categories: sweaters, outerwear, denim, cut + sew, sportswear a must
  • Must be organized, a team player and able meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to communicate in English
