Position: International Sales Manager

Salary: $80,000   + Bonus

Our client, a rapidly expanding international manufacturer/distributor in the toys and games industry, is looking for an experienced and dedicated International Sales Manager to join its dynamic team. Must be an entrepreneurial spirit and highly driven for success.

Day to day:    

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to existing and prospective clients within Canada (excluding Quebec) and International Markets ; evaluates current international market distribution partners and make recommends to improve partnerships
  • Manages sales forecasting activities, set performance goals accordingly and action plan to increase sales
  • Follows market trends, availability and prices, and maintains weekly price schedules
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing realized sales against forecasted sales
  • Ensures profitability through monitoring margins
  • Product recommendation and pricing based on analysis of retail shelf
  • Delivers presentations and negotiates sales opportunities to prospects
  • Creates and develops a network of partners to generate leads
  • Stays abreast of industry trends by attending relevant trade shows and conferences
  • Attends and participate in key industry association events
  • Attends meetings with customers to build relationships with existing accounts and prospects
  • Creates proposals and contracts
  • Ensures sales team complies with company policies, procedures and controls, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Evaluate sales team performance and provide additional coaching and support as needed
  • Ensures customer master files, sales agreements and price schedule are maintained
  • Champion and become the Canadian market expert (learn the product and competition like the back of your hand)
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the supply chain and general manager on matters relevant to the fulfilment of orders

 Requirements for Success:  

  • 5 + years of experience in field toy sales and/or consumer packaged goods sales support
  • University degree in Business Administration
  • Experience with distributors, key accounts, emerging channels, specialty accounts and large retail chains
  • Excellent communication and public presentation skills
  • Strong command of the English language is required (working knowledge of French an asset)
  • Self-motivation, determination, creativity and organizational skills are a must
  • Strong analytical, sales methodologies and techniques
  • CPG sales forecasting experience
  • Proficient at computer applications such as MS Office Suite (Excel wizard), QuickBooks, CRM
  • Travel is required
  • Effective planning and objective-goal setting along with self-control and commitment to ensure completion of plans and tasks
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem resolution skills to create a “win-win” scenario with customers
