Our client a global leader in the manufacturing of lifestyle, active and seamless apparel is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to become a member of its North American Montreal headquarters.

Your role

• Certify that all garments are of the correct fit, look, style and quality
• Measure samples for fit and production against size specifications to guarantee the desired fit is consistently achieved
• Develop product standards across categories for fit, construction, quality and tech pack formats and maintain accuracy
• Make modifications to specifications and details to achieve desired fit and look
• Leverage client feedback to establish consistency in fit across categories and fabrications
• Conduct fit analysis and fitting on live models/mannequin to reach proper quality standards
• Ensure that all tech packs and size specifications are to company requirements and communicate all changes directly to overseas suppliers
• Provide technical expertise by undertaking a proactive approach identifying any potential
• problems that may arise and suggesting alternative solutions without compromising fit
• Upload sample submission measurements into Flex PLM platform (or similar)
• Other duties as required

Why you’d make the perfect “fit”

• 5 years experience as a Senior Technical Designer/Fit Technician
• Demonstrated experience in seamless knit or active wear preferred
• Equivalent of Fashion and Design College Diploma
• Must be proficient in MS suite; Illustrator would be an asset; experience with PLM system an asset
• Excellent knowledge of garment construction and fit
• Superior technical knowledge of product fit, pattern and construction to provide leadership for large and complex apparel development projects
• Strong command of the English language is required; French an asset
• Able to conduct fit sessions
• Comfortable working with shifting priorities, juggling multiple projects at once and high prioritization skills
• Ability to Prioritize work flow; meet tight deadlines and adaptable to a flexible environment
• Must be flexible to travel
