Senior Technical Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer & Technical Designer to lead the design, development, and technical execution of premium cycling and running brands.  This hybrid role combines creative vision with technical expertise, ensuring our products push the boundaries of performance, aerodynamics, and innovation. With a strong emphasis on cycling, you will drive the evolution of race-ready and endurance-focused gear, integrating the latest advancements in fabric technology, fit optimization, and sustainability to enhance speed, comfort, and durability for every ride.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Innovation:

  • Lead the  end-to-end design process  for cycling and running apparel, from concept to production.
  • Conduct  market research, trend forecasting, and competitive analysis  to develop industry-leading products.
  • Create and present  sketches, mood boards, color palettes, and fabric selections.
  • Collaborate with  product development, material suppliers, and R&D teams  to integrate cutting-edge, sustainable, and high-performance fabrics.
  • Ensure all designs align with  brand DNA, performance expectations, and athlete needs.

Technical Development & Fit:

  • Develop and maintain  detailed tech packs, including  specs, grading, and construction details.
  • Conduct  fit sessions  and work closely with factories to refine silhouettes and optimize functionality.
  • Identify and resolve  construction or material issues, ensuring superior performance, aerodynamics, and comfort.
  • Ensure all designs meet  sustainability and technical compliance  standards.
  • Conduct  wear tests and performance assessments  to validate product effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with  marketing, sales, and product development  teams to align product strategy with brand positioning.
  • Communicate effectively with  factories, vendors, and manufacturing partners  to ensure flawless execution of designs and technical specifications.
  • Present seasonal collections and product innovations to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in  Fashion Design, Technical Design, or Apparel Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience  in performance apparel design and technical development, preferably in  cycling, running, or outdoor sports.
  • Expertise in  garment construction, fit, pattern-making, and performance fabrics.
  • Proficiency in  Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D (or Browzwear), and PLM systems.
  • Experience working with  factories and production teams  to ensure quality execution.
  • Strong understanding of  stretch fabrics, seam construction (bonding, welding, flatlock stitching), and aerodynamics in apparel.
  • Ability to balance  creativity with technical precision  in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for  cycling, running, and endurance sports  is a plus.
